After months and months of anticipation, Zynga, the company that very quickly rose to prominence as the main player in the field of social gaming, has finally introduced its collection of real-money online casino games and online poker to the United Kingdom market. The games are the result of a partnership that has been established between Zynga and bwin.party, which is the largest publicly traded online gambling entity.
Zynga's games include slot games, blackjack and online poker. This is an organization that has built a database of millions and millions of players who have come on board for their versions of slots and Hold'em. These initial offerings are being made via the web, and while there is a download version of the casino, some of the games can also be played through the browser.
The Zynga Plus Casino includes ten different versions of blackjack, European roulette, craps, Casino War, baccarat, Let It Ride, Pai Gow, and Caribbean Poker. Red Dog, Texas Hold'em Bonus Poker, Triple Card Poker and lots of slot games, including, yes, the Farmville slot. The casino features 24/7 customer support, welcome bonuses and a full VIP program.
Zynga Plus Poker offers all kinds of tournament action, with something going just about any time of the day. There are Sit & Go tournaments, Multi-table tournaments, shootouts, heads-up tournaments and satellites.
It is suspected that the long-term effect on Zynga will be positive, although it is by no means an automatic. The stock went up 15% on the day the casinos opened, but one must remember that this was an organization that in hot water less than a year ago, when Zynga lost much of its top-level executive talent and experienced a loss of more than $200 million for 2012.
Zynga's games will eventually expand to Facebook for customers in the UK, but the target they are aiming at - and they are hardly alone in this regard - is the United States, which is now moving in the direction of licensing and regulation of internet gambling on a state-by-state basis. Just a couple of months ago the company filed a "preliminary finding of suitability" with the state of Nevada, as it moved toward getting approval in the Silver State when the time comes.
