Growth Forecast Strong for Social Casino Gaming

Social gaming has been an explosive phenomenon and promises to explode even more in the year 2013. There is even a Social Casino Gaming Summit that is scheduled for June. One of the companies that is heavily involved in the space is Super Data Research, which compiles comprehensive information about the industry and where it's going. Some of the figures they have put together in a recent survey are intriguing, to say the least.

There is a very optimistic forecast for the next three years. So where will the biggest gains be taking place by 2015? According to the data, the United States, which produced $663 million in social casino revenues for 2012, will see that grow to over a billion dollars by 2015, which represents a 55% increase. As far as individual countries are concerned, the U.S. is by far the biggest consumer.

The United Kingdom is also seen as an area of considerable growth, and the influence of companies like Zynga will certainly be felt in this area. By 2015, the UK is estimated to be around $139 million, which would be a 52.7% increase over where has most recently been reported. France and Germany will both see a 32.2% increase in revenues by that time, according to Super Data Research figures. And the forecast for Latin America is a 31.2% increase by the end of '15.

It may be somewhat surprising that 57% of the social gaming participants are female, although it is probably no surprise that there is an overwhelming demographic "lean" to the younger crowd. The 21-34 demo is the most widely represented, with 43.66% of all players. Those under 21 constituted just 0.63%, while those at 55 and over were 15.43% of the total.

There is a lot of activity rather evenly distributed over various games. Poker is the most popular social casino game, but not by a wide margin, as 28.15% of those players surveyed say that it was the game they played most frequently over the previous six months. In a close second place were casino games at 24.26%, followed by slots at 21.67%. Bingo was very well represented, grabbing 11.3% of those surveyed.
