The Magnificent Mega Moolah Online Slot

Microgaming has announced that the Mega Progressive jackpot of its Mega Moolah network has delivered million plus payouts in each month from January 2018 to April 2018. This 4-tier progressive jackpot is the flagship network at Microgaming online casinos like Royal Vegas, Lucky Nugget and Blackjack Ballroom.

Of the four independent jackpot levels, of main interest is the largest one called Mega Progressive. It resets at 1 million credits and creates a millionaire every time it is hit. The other three jackpots are Major Progressive, Minor Progressive and Mini Progressive and they reset at decreasingly lower levels. The progressive jackpot is hit through a randomly triggered bonus game. When the game is triggered, you spin the wheel on the screen. The wheel contains different coloured bands, each representing one of the progressive jackpot levels. The coloured band next to the indicator when the wheel stops determines which jackpot is hit. Once the bonus game is triggered you are sure to win one of the four progressive jackpots. The frequency of winning the smaller jackpots is much higher. The Mega Progressive is hit least often.

Mega Moolah was first launched as a stand-alone slot game with an African safari theme. The popularity of this progressive jackpot was soaring, so Microgaming decided to add more games to the network to increase the liquidity. Microgaming selected some of its popular online slots and adapted them for the progressive jackpot network. In January 2009 Five Reel Drive was connected to the Mega Moolah network. This slot game had a road trip theme that included fast food items as the low paying symbols. The next game was Summertime in May 2009. Isis was added in August 2009. Isis had the popular ancient Egypt theme and used icons from that mythology. Later Microgaming added to high profile branded slots to the Mega Moolah network. One was The Fellowship of the Rings based on the first part of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The other was The Dark Knight based on the second movie of the Warner Brothers Batman trilogy. Unfortunately, both these slot games had to be removed from the portfolio due to licensing reasons.

Since inception, the Mega Progressive jackpot has been hit 48 times till the time of writing. The average payout on this jackpot is just over 5 million credits and it hits on an average every 9 weeks. The highest ever payout of over 13 million credits went to a player on October 6, 2015.
