If you are not in a mood to match wits against the dealer in a poker based table game, but still want to play a game that has something to do with poker, then try Hold’em Showdown. It is live at all Playtech powered online casinos like Omni Casino and Mansion Casino. You will find it listed in the Arcade Games category, which are fixed odds games. The game is somewhat like online baccarat in that you have to predict who will hold the winning hand. The odds change depending on the cards dealt.

You begin by selecting your wager amount. Two pocket cards are dealt to each of the four Opponent positions on the table and two to the Dealer position. For each Opponent hand, one payout is displayed for the Opponent winning the hand and another payout is displayed for the Dealer winning the hand. If you are unhappy with these cards and payouts then you can change the cards three times by clicking the Shuffle button.

Once the table is set, either by choice or default, you have to select one of the four Opponents and then predict whether the Dealer or the Opponent will win the Hold’em showdown. The choice would generally depend on your risk taking propensity. If you are a conservative player, you should select options with lower payouts but higher chances of success. Risk taking players can go for options with higher payouts.

Once you select your Opponent and outcome, the cards of the remaining Opponents are removed from the table. The five community cards are dealt. If you want to enjoy the suspense then play in the default mode and see the community cards dealt in the Flop, Turn and River sequence. However, if you prefer fast paced action, then activate the Turbo Bet feature. The cards will be dealt and the result announced instantly.

As in online casino poker games, the Opponent’s and the Dealer’s five card hands are compared using the normal poker hand rankings. The five card hands have to use the dealt pocket cards and the three most favorable community cards. The software automatically does this. If you have backed the loser then you lose your stake. If you have backed the winner then your initial stake is replaced by the payout. You can collect this and play a new game with a stake of your choice. You can collect half the amount and start a new game with the balance half staked. Or you can start a new game with the full payout staked.
