The Danger in Small Denomination Video Slots

Online casino basic strategy advices players to play video slots with the right denomination. This means that players are recommended to stick to online slot machines that fit their budget and to which they can set a limit on the amount they wager, ideally as a way to minimize losses and to not go overboard with the bets you are placing. We believe that whereas this strategy is safe for the most part, there is a loop in the strategy because there is a dangerous situation that can come up when you are playing slot machines with low wagers. Today, we will discuss what this danger is and how it affects players in different ways.

When an online casino player finds himself placing small wagers at video slots there is a trap he must be wary of: the idea that you are not betting something significant. The other day a friend went to the casino and decided to stick around the 1 cent slot machines with five reels in order to not spend too much money since he was in a tight spot. How he ended up spending $200 with no significant returns is what we are trying to point out to you, so let us tell you.

Let's assume my friend's name is Johnny. Johnny started with a $10 wager in a 1 cent slot machine which seemed like nothing. During his first fifteen minutes of play his initial $10 turned into $60 and he thought he was getting lucky. He cashed out and tried a different slot machine, this time he deposited $20 and within the first 20 minutes he had some ups and downs and ended up with $50 after a few free spins and a little luck. Johnny was extremely excited and started to become convinced that he would eventually hit one of the jackpots, if not the major at least the minor for $200.

Johnny kept playing other slot machines with the money he was acquiring, but soon faced total losses and would re-invest money hoping to get even eventually, and even hoped to hit the jackpot. None of those situations happened and Johnny was on the red for $200 in 5 hours. This may seem little, but consider he was trying to bet $30 for the whole night and things spiraled out of control. What made Johnny keep putting money in? Stay tuned this week and we will continue the analysis.
