Caribbean Stud Poker is a popular casino poker game offered at all leading online casinos. Microgaming and Realtime Gaming online casinos offer another casino poker game called Caribbean Draw Poker. The basic difference between stud poker and draw poker cash games is reflected in these two games.

Online Caribbean Draw Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. You begin the game by placing the ante bet. You can place the optional side bet as well. When you click the Deal button you are dealt five cards face up and the dealer is dealt one card face up and four cards face down. You then have to exercise one of three options. You can stand and place a play bet equal to double the ante bet. Or you can select up to two cards for replacement by clicking on them. You then click the Draw button to replace the selected cards and place the play bet. Or you can fold, in which case the game will end and you will lose your ante bet.

If you have selected one of the first two options, after the play bet is placed the dealer’s face down cards will be automatically exposed. The dealer automatically draws up to two cards to improve his hand. Your hand will be compared with the dealer’s hand based on the normal poker hand rankings. If your hand is lower in ranking than the dealer’s hand then you will lose both the ante and the play bets. If your hand is higher ranked, then the payout depends on whether or not the dealer has qualified. The dealer requires a pair of eights or better to qualify. If the dealer has not qualified then the ante bet pays even money and the play bet pushes. If the dealer has qualified then the ante bet pays even money and the play bet pays as per a payout table. Less than a flush pays out even money. A flush pays out 2 to 1, a full house pays out 3 to 1, a four of a kind pays out 10 to 1, a straight flush pays out a 20 to 1 a royal flush pays out 100 to 1.
